Program Overview

Seniors will select and apply for an internship project. A faculty advisor will guide the selection process. Students will submit a resume, questionnaire and statement of goals and expectations highlighting their plans. Consent from parents will be needed.

Interns will complete time on-site at a place of business and a log will be kept. A Daily Journal will be kept and will become part of the Capstone Project. Classroom meetings, journal writing, meeting of deadlines ad a final presentation will serve as assessments for the internship.

The Program Coordinator will meet with the seniors to discuss the opportunities available through Executive Internship program. Seniors should informally meet with the Program Coordinator to clarify any questions which may arise.

An overview of the program will be presented to parents and seniors will receive their handbooks from the Program Coordinator. A required meeting for students providing information on the handbook and procedures regarding the program will be scheduled. The handbook will also be available on the School Website.

During the first week of the last quarter, Teacher-Advisors will establish contact with the site supervisors to inform them of the names of the interns and the times the students will be present at their business facility.

During the third week of the last quarter, students will embark on their internships which will last approximately four weeks. Please keep in mind that if you are participating in any extracurricular activity, students must plan accordingly, to avoid scheduling conflicts.

During the sixth week of the last quarter, students should be completing their Capstone Project and preparing for final presentations.

The program ends the seventh week of the last quarter. All presentations must be completed for final grades to be calculated for graduation.
