Barracuda Times

Edition 7: September 22, 2023 - September 29, 2023

From Mrs. Ringdahl, Elementary Principal

Greetings,
Another week is done. What a wonderful week it was! Start with Hello sent powerful messages about the RAMS Way! What is the RAMS way? Can you feel it went you enter the building? We hope so. The RAMS way is simply to be the best version of yourself every day. Be kind to yourself and others. Treat yourself, others, and the school with respect. We expect that all adults in our building model this! We are grateful for your partnership with our staff as we are stronger as a united front.
Huge congratulations to our own Dr. Rebenack, STEM teacher extraordinaire, NASA Ambassador and Civil Air Patrol educator as she has secured a weather station at RAMS for students to complete a project on Watershed Analysis which includes data collection, laboratory experiments and collaboration on data analysis. All students in grades K-5 will participate. Talk to your student today about the amazing STEM opportunities she brings to our students every single day!
With three weeks left in the grading period, I ask that our students make the most of it. Finish strong. We love to celebrate accomplishments of our students. Making every day better than the day before is the greatest achievement. We celebrate a new day each day with a fresh start. No matter what happened yesterday, it is in the past. Can’t change it; we can only do better; be better.
Have a great week!
💙Mrs. Ringdahl

From Mr. Bertha, Secondary Principal

Dear RAMS Families,

There are three weeks left in the first quarter of the year. The first marking period closes on Thursday, October 12, and finalized report cards will available to parents on Friday, November 3. Please continue encouraging your student to give their best to academics. First quarter grades matter! These grades are averaged with second quarter grades and an exam to result in a first semester average. I hope you will join us on Tuesday’s Parent Academy to learn more about middle and high school progression and graduation. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. in the gym.
Thank you for supporting our “Start with Hello” week. Students engaged with our activities and the image below shows students writing notes of encouragement to others on campus. Student life events will continue in the weeks ahead as we recognize and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
We appreciate the increasing attendance at our monthly PTSO General Assembly meetings. On Thursday, our PTSO board shared budget and event updates and highlighted a push for more community events. PTSO membership is $10 for an individual and $15 for a family membership. Membership is a major focus this year and I strongly encourage all families to join (you can click here for the PTSO membership page)!

Best regards,
🐟Chris Bertha
