A message from our school:

Dear Riverview Academy Parents, Guardians, and Families,

The data from our FAST Progress Monitoring 1 state testing is in! We have started reviewing and organizing the information with our staff, and your students’ score reports will be coming to you soon. When reviewing your student’s performance and report, please keep the following in mind:

  • During Progress Monitoring stages 1 and 2, students are assessed on end-of-grade standards. In other words, the tests students just completed are similar in content and scope to the subsequent rounds of testing this school year.

  • For example, 68% of our ninth grade students tested below grade level on the PM1 Reading assessment. We are encouraged by this result as 32% of our students are already meeting grade-level expectations. Students who are not there yet will be supported by instruction tailored to their needs.

  • Our K-3 learners have had very limited experience completing computer-based standardized assessments. This, combined with the end-of grade standards, may have affected your student’s performance.

  • This week, our faculty and staff will begin a detailed examination of our data through grade-specific and subject-specific lenses. This analysis will inform our approach to teaching, learning, and assessment in the months ahead.

If you have questions about your child’s score report, please reach out to your student’s teacher. If they are unable to answer your question, your division administrator will be happy to help you.

Chris Bertha

Testing

  • Hard copies of student test reports will be sent home with students soon!

Morning Carline

  • A reminder that our academic day begins at 8:00 a.m. Students are expected to be in class by that time. Any arrival to homeroom after the 8:00 a.m. bell is a tardy arrival.

  • Beginning on Monday, school doors will close at 8:00 a.m. and parents will need to walk their child into the building to sign them in.

Yearbook Information

  • Buy the Yearbook (pictavo.com)
The link allows parents to begin purchasing yearbooks for the 22-23 school year. Parents can also upload photos from school, PTSO sponsored, and sporting events that they would like to add to the yearbook. Parents who own or operate a business may also purchase ad space in the yearbook.

Elementary Student of the Month Recognition

  • We will begin recognizing elementary students of the month next week. Parents of selected students will receive an invitation to a special event honoring these students. Be on the lookout for a message from Mrs. Fillyaw!

Lost & Found

  • We will be donating Lost and Found items to Goodwill at the end of this week. If your child is missing something, please have them collect it before Friday afternoon!

Athletics

  • RAMS athletic program has been very active this year. For up-to-date information about our teams, schedules, and parent documents, please visit our RAMS Athletic Page.

Reminders & Updates

CARLINE: Thank you for continuing to drive safely and follow the rules of carline. We appreciate your patience during this time as we work out the flow of carline. To help assist us in that:

  • Remove your 'car tag' once your child is IN your vehicle. (This makes it easy for us to know with just a glance that you do not need assistance.)
  • Talk to your children about being alert when outside, looking for their vehicle and listening for their name.
  • If asked to go to holding, please remain in your vehicle. A stationed staff member / safety patroller is there to assist you.

    • As you first enter campus, the right lane should be used for Park & Walk lot access only.
    • K-2 pickup begins at 2:30 p.m. Vehicles should not enter campus until 1:45 p.m.
    • 3-9 pickup begins at 3:00 p.m. Vehicles should not enter campus until 2:30 p.m.
    • Arriving earlier than these times creates additional traffic and carline delays

  • FREE & REDUCED MEAL APPLICATION: In the 2022-23 school year, free and reduced lunch is only available via application, see link below.
